Doris Preininger during her PhD at the University of Vienna investigated the acoustic and visual communication of foot-flagging frogs in Borneo and India and established a conservation breeding program for two foot-flagging frogs in the Vienna Zoo. Since 2013 she works as researcher and herpetologist at the Vienna Zoo. Her research focuses on communication and behavior of amphibians and how evolution shapes traits and mechanisms to influence variation.
