One of the most controversial health-related subjects of the last 15 years has been the alleged connection<\/a> between the MMR vaccine<\/a> and autism<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It all started back in 1998, when Dr. Andrew Wakefield<\/a> published a study <\/a>linking autism with MMR in the Lancet.\u00a0 The results of this study have not been successfully replicated and many official bodies, including the CDC <\/a>and the NHS <\/a>, have been vocal about the inexistence of scientific evidence in support of such connection. A trend has, nevertheless, started with parents refusing to let their children be vaccinated against MMR,\u00a0 causing vaccination compliance rates to drop and the corresponding diseases to outbreak<\/a>.<\/p>\n
