The course will focus on<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>what an ethics review committee looks for in a research protocol and what its primary concerns are<\/li>\n<li>which ethics guidelines need to be adhered to<\/li>\n<li>why informed consent is so important and how should a good informed consent form look like<\/li>\n<li>ethical issues with research using online health data<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The course will be held on<strong> September 16th 2013<\/strong> and will be facilitated by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ethik.uzh.ch\/ibme\/team\/mitarbeitende\/effyvayena.html\">Dr. Effy Vayena <\/a>from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ethik.uzh.ch\/ibme_en.html\">Institute of Biomedical Ethics<\/a> of the University of Z\u00fcrich (which will also be the location of the course)<\/p>\n<p>As the number of participants is limited, please make sure you <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ispm-unibasel.ch\/ssphplus\/spip.php?page=phd_intranet_light&amp;lang=en&amp;id_course=144&amp;var_mode=recalcul\">register online <\/a>until 16 August 2013.<\/p>\n<p>For further\u00a0 information, see the <a href=\"http:\/\/ijph.blogs.springer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Course-Flyer_Ethics_2013.pdf\">Course Flyer<\/a>!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p class=\"excerpt\">We are happy to announce a new course from the Swiss School of Public Health +, entitled \u201cHow to pass your research protocol through an ethics review committee\u201d.
