AuthorMap Widgets

We’ve just recently launched a new feature on the AuthorMapper: widgets.

Similar to how you embed a YouTube video or Google Map on your blog of Facebook page, AuthorMapper now allows you to embed an author map for any performed search. This feature is available by clicking on the “Embed” link (at the bottom right of the map) after a search has been performed.

The AuthorMapper widget is delivered in an Iframe, which is completely customizable. You can set the dimensions for width, height, and the link to the AuthorMapper as you desire.

You might use an embedded AuthorMap to display:

  • your published articles on your author homepage
  • the total or recent articles from your journal on the journal’s portal
  • all the authors from your institution on your library homepage.

Here’s an example of an embedded author map for articles published from the Netherlands

We hope you will find this new feature useful and appreciate any and all comments.

It would be useful if the widget also indicated what search it represented. As well it would be nice to have more control over the size and centre of the widget.
